Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanišević tries Sportbot at ATP Umag

Goran Ivanišević greeting Toni Ulčar at the net during ATP Umag 2025

Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanišević stepped onto court with Sportbot during ATP Umag in July 2025. He tried a drill with our moving ball machine, taking a turn with a ball feed that changes position across the court.

The Croatian champion behind the racket

Ivanišević’s name is closely tied to Wimbledon. After reaching the final three times, he won the title in 2001, beating Pat Rafter after entering the tournament on a wild card.

The Croatian left-hander was known for his powerful serve and reached world No. 2. His tennis career continued in coaching, including working with Marin Čilić and Novak Djokovic. He is also a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020. You can read more about his playing and coaching career in his Hall of Fame profile.

A moving-machine drill at ATP Umag

In Umag, Goran picked up his racket and tried Sportbot on court. The machine’s movement is central to the drill: Sportbot can deliver balls from different positions, changing where the next shot comes from.

For the player, that means reading the ball, adjusting position and recovering for the next shot. Those are the court movements that a moving-machine drill is designed to bring into practice.
